  • RNs can co-sign aide documentation when needed
  • Live monitor home visits, and get alerted for delayed visits and no-shows
  • Accelerate billing and payroll (EVV data is automatically integrated into billing and payroll)

Georgia Medicaid Approved EVV System

Alora Home Health Care Software offers a complete agency solution with built-in Georgia Medicaid certified EVV.  As an approved alternate EVV system for Tellus/Netsmart aggregator, Alora automatically transmits GA EVV information to Tellus/Netsmart.

When you manage EVV outside of your agency management software – i.e., through a stand-alone system – you have to re-enter data. That takes time and brings mistakes.  But Alora’s Georgia Home Health Care Software integrates EVV into a complete, easy-to-use software. All of the information for each visit — about the client, caregiver, agency, schedules, and service provided – is built-in.  So, your caregiver doesn’t have to re-enter information … and your agency gets the benefit of accuracy and efficiency.

Built-in EVV for Georgia Agencies – The Advantage of Simplicity

Alora makes work life easier for both administrators and caregivers. The benefits of having Electronic Visit Verification fully integrated within Alora’s Georgia homecare software system begin with the fact that Alora already houses visit information from the point the caregiver arrives at a patient’s home. Upon their arrival at a patient’s residence, caregivers can simply press “Start Visit” and proceed with patient care.

Stand-alone EVV systems lack prior data from the visit, lack information on a client’s Medicaid ID, and lack agency information, caregiver identity, and details of the services being provided. Caregivers are forced to enter all of this information upon arrival, wasting time, and raising the risk of manual entry mistakes. A state-approved system requires extensive training and the hassle of navigating EVV data in two separate systems. Alora’s EVV solution removes these burdens from agencies with a centralized interface designed for both agency admin and caregiver ease. Caregivers can use Alora EVV on their mobile device of choice.

Care Plan based Visit Notes for your Aides and nurses

Alora generates patient-specific visit notes derived from the Plan of Care. Aides and nurses can perform documentation directly from Alora’s EVV interface on their mobile device, simplifying processes, and creating assurance that care was implemented accurately and on time.

When does the EVV requirement begin in Georgia?

The official Go-live date for Georgia EVV? October 1, 2021

In December 2016, Congress enacted the 21st Century Cures Act. Section 12006 of the Act requires States to implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for Medicaid-covered Personal Care Services (PCS) and Home Health Care Services (HHCS) by January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023.

The Cures Act included a provision that allowed states to delay implementation of EVV for up to one year if they were able to demonstrate the state had made a good faith effort to comply with Electronic Visit Verification requirements but had encountered unavoidable delays. Georgia DCH having encountered such difficulties, submitted a Good Faith Exemption Request Form on behalf of the State of Georgia earlier in the year, and CMS granted approval. The GFE approval extended the final deadline for implementing EVV for Personal Care Services to January 1, 2021, and Home Health Services by January 1, 2023. While Georgia missed this January 1, 2021 implementation deadline, and in June of 2021 the deadline was moved to October 1, 2021, DCH is committed to working with members, providers, and vendors to meet training needs and implement a quality solution as quickly as possible.

What Does EVV in Georgia Entail?

EVV is defined as a technology that automates the gathering and transmission of data associated with visits by capturing time, attendance, and care plan information entered by a home health care worker (nurse, aide, caregiver, etc) at the time and location of care. Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) gives providers, case managers, and DCH access to service delivery information in real-time to ensure there are no gaps in care throughout the duration of the service plan.

What services are included in Georgia’s EVV Requirement?

  • Personal Care Services
  • Home Health Care Services

What data or information is required in EVV transmission?

With respect to personal care services or home health care services, and in accordance with the parameters set forth by the 21st Century Cures Act, a compliant Georgia Medicaid EVV system must verify electronically

  • The type of service performed
  • The full name of the individual receiving the service
  • The full name of the individual providing the service
  • The specific date the service was provided
  • The physical address (location) where the service was provided
  • The time the service begins and ends.

Is Georgia providing an EVV system?

Tellus/Netsmart has been selected as the DCH EVV service provider for the state of Georgia, however, providers are free to use an EVV service provider of their choosing so long as it meets the collection requirements of the 21st Century Cures Act, and meets integration requirements for data transmission with Tellus/Netsmart.

Can I use an alternate EVV system outside of the state-provided system?

YES. Alora is a Georgia Medicaid Approved EVV Software System.
