When does the EVV requirement begin in Wyoming?

As of June 2021 (dates subject to change), the state and Carebridge (Wyoming selected CareBridge as the state-sponsored EVV solution) targeted October 1, 2021 for the official implementation date for their EVV solution. Providers/agencies then had until December 1, 2021 to begin submitting all in–home service claims through the EVV system or a compatible alternate system.

EVV began with the 21st Century Cures Act. In December 2016, Congress enacted the 21st Century Cures Act. Section 12006 of the Act requires States to implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for Medicaid-covered Personal Care Services (PCS) and Home Health Care Services (HHCS) by January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023.

What services are included in Wyoming’s EVV Requirement?

• Personal Care Services (PCS) requiring an in–home visit provided under the Medicaid State Plan or under a waiver program will require EVV
• Home Health Care Services (HHCS) requiring an in–home visit provided under the State Plan or under a waiver of the State Plan

What data or information is required in EVV transmission?

With respect to personal care services or home health care services, and in accordance with the parameters set forth by the 21^st Century Cures Act, a compliant Wyoming Medicaid EVV system must verify electronically

• The type of service performed
• The full name of the individual receiving the service
• The full name of the individual providing the service
• The specific date the service was provided
• The physical address (location) where the service was provided
• The time the service begins and ends

Can I use an alternate EVV system outside of the state-provided system?

Yes, as long as the EVV system is capable of fulfilling all the aggregator requirements of the state-sponsored system in compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act.
