Live Real-time Monitoring

Alora offers live monitoring of home visits, notifying your agency of both no-shows and delayed visits. Alora provides a real-time view of all home visit activities in real-time. This ensures that your agency stays compliant and informed while avoiding the risks associated with lost revenue due to visit disruptions.

Faster, More Efficient Billing and Payroll

EVV is integrated within Alora’s robust home health software solution, subsequently,  EVV data is automatically captured and flows into this system. When an agency’s caregiver exits the patient’s home, the visit is instantly updated within Alora’s system with the start and end times recorded. The visit is then marked as completed, and instantly ready for billing and payroll. All visits that did not occur as planned are flagged for manual review by your agency’s administrators.

Reduce Claim Denials Risk

Once Iowa Medicaid EVV officially began in 2021 per the 21st Century Cures Act and state mandate, the possibility of denied claims increased for those not comfortable with a compatible EVV system. Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is a federal requirement for Iowa to complete its rollout in January 2024. Why put your agency at risk for claim denials, as relying on a free state-sponsored solution could cause your agency to double the work (the burden of managing EVV in two separate systems). Alora’s compatible EVV-ready system integrates intuitive electronic visit verification functionality into claims processing, thus virtually eliminating the risk of claim denials. With Alora, you can rest easy, allowing your caregivers to focus on patient care while admins can relax with a system that has the state’s EVV requirements covered.

Simplicity through Automated Workflow

Alora standardizes ease & automation through Iowa home care software technology, positioning your agency to enjoy a heightened level of workflow that ensures efficiency and accuracy. The outdated process of committing several manual hours daily to enter and verify EVV data can be a welcome elimination from your staff’s workflow. Inefficient practices cost agencies time and money while raising the possibility of costly errors that can put reimbursement and agency solvency at risk. With Alora, simple is not only power, it is also profitable.

Built-in EVV for Iowa Homecare Agencies – The Advantage of Simplicity

Alora makes work life easier for both administrators and caregivers. The benefits of having a certified Electronic Visit Verification solution, fully integrated within Alora’s Iowa homecare software,  begin with the fact that Alora already houses visit information from the point the caregiver arrives at a patient’s home. Upon their arrival at a patient’s residence, caregivers can simply press “Start Visit” and proceed with patient care.

Free or Stand-alone EVV systems lack prior data from the visit, lack information on a client’s Medicaid ID, and lack agency information, caregiver identity, and details of the services being provided. Caregivers are forced to enter all of this information upon arrival, wasting time, and raising the risk of manual entry mistakes. A state-approved system requires extensive training and the hassle of navigating EVV data in two separate systems with minimal support. Alora’s EVV solution removes these burdens from agencies with a centralized interface designed for both agency admin and caregiver ease. Caregivers are free to use Alora EVV on their mobile device of choice.

Care Plan based Visit Notes for your Aides and nurses

Alora generates patient-specific visit notes derived from the Plan of Care. Aides and nurses can perform documentation directly from Alora’s EVV interface on their mobile device, simplifying processes, and creating assurance that care was implemented accurately and on time.

EVV began with the 21st Century Cures Act. In December 2016, Congress enacted the 21st Century Cures Act. Section 12006 of the Act requires States to implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for Medicaid-covered Personal Care Services (PCS) and Home Health Care Services (HHCS) by January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023.

What provider types are required to use EVV in Iowa?

  • Home health services and waiver providers including Individual CDAC providers, and Consumer Choices Options (CCO) providers, Personal Care providers.

What data or information is required in EVV transmission?

With respect to personal care services or home health care services, and in accordance with the parameters set forth by the 21st Century Cures Act, a compliant Iowa Medicaid EVV system must verify electronically

  • The type of service performed
  • The full name of the individual receiving the service
  • The full name of the individual providing the service
  • The specific date the service was provided
  • The physical address (location) where the service was provided
  • The time the service begins and ends

Can I use an alternate EVV system outside of the state-provided system?

Yes, as long as the EVV system is capable of fulfilling all the Carebridge aggregator requirements of the state-sponsored system in compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act.
